Moving from Maylands to Dianella week 65

Gooood Morning Everyone! (Or Evening)

This week has come to a sad conclusion. For 7 and a half months I have served here in the maylands area, and have gone to the Dianella ward throughout that time. Now it has all come to a close. Just this last Saturday I was informed that I would be moving areas. It was something I have been expecting for sometime but never truly ready for it. I have really grown to love this area and the people in it. They have treated me well throughout the time that I've been here. I've had wonderful experiences, seen mighty miracles, and made everlasting friends. It always hard to leave such a place as this behind and travel to an unfamiliar place and a people I do not know. But it is what I am called to do. It is a great and marvelous work that we've been called to work. It is hard as its always been but full of continual rewards. The Lord is in this work, and he knows where we're needed.

I learned that I will be making my way down to Bunbury, in the Eaton area. It'll be the most south I've been yet. So far I've already heard that the area is good, and that the ward there is great. Some members even relayed that information to me. I'll be serving with elder Wilson, who I've met before, but never got to know. I'm pretty excited to go and to get acquainted with him and the area. It'll be a big change, but hopeful I'm ready for it.

Throughout this week we made an effort to visit as many members as we could, though at that point we didn't know we were going anywhere, but I knew it was probably one of my last weeks here. The next few days we'll be visiting with a few members that I've really had the chance to come close to. I'm making it an effort to get as many pictures as I can with them.

Hope you have a wonderful week this week. I'll let you know how everything goes next week.

Love,
Elder Boren

week 64

Hello everyone!

Hope you've all had an exciting week I myself had a really good one. Hopefully I can relate to you all that has happened.

Last Monday we didn't do too much, just hanging out with the dianella elders at this massive board game store. It was pretty huge to say the least. Had a great stock of board games, art for games, models, and everything one needs for the games they wish to play. It was great. I have to say since I've been out on my mission I've really grown a love for board games. I have a list of games I want to try out with the family when I return. Another thing, the board game store was in this awesome building, were basically you walk in and it makes you feel like your in a tight street of London. It's not huge but it's pretty cool. Also it's very hard to find a bathroom there, just wanted to add that fact.

After that the week went by as it normally does, which is awesome. We were able to met with a lot of members visits this week, and had a good amount of dinner appointments. So fear not, I am being fed. We had an exchange with the zone leaders and I was with Elder Harris which takes me back to Warnbro days. We had a great time together. We had a great visit with Brother Roberts and The Vargas were we talked about the restoration. It was a great lesson and we had dinner with them as well. A great day it was.

The next great day was Sunday and it was one of the best. We had a great sacrament meeting talking about agency and the freedom of choice. We also had some guest from the United States who were visiting their parents who were servicing a mission here in dianella. They sung at sacrament meeting which was really good. Then later on in the night we had a dinner appointment with several members in our area and had a great lesson with them. It was a wonderful time where we ware able to bond with them. After that we were blessed to be able to go to the Rockingham Come and see fireside. It was amazing, it was almost like going home. The best part about it was I was able to see a member there just before he would go out on his mission which will be in 9 days. It was an amazing experience and I'm so grateful that I was able to experience it.

Hope you had something special happen to you this week and if not, something is on its way to you. Love you all

Love,
Elder Boren

week 63

Hello everyone! Sorry about last week and the lack of a true email. We had a pretty exciting p-day which took me away from my emailing for long enough to stop me from sending a full email. Now I do have the time to do it, so I shall do so.

This week was a really good week. To start it off we had a great p-day. It was elders p-day and we played some intense games. One of which was ultamite Ball, which is like ultimate frisbee, but with a soccer ball and a jump to start out. The elders all got really into it, and we had some good fun playing it. We also got pretty sweaty doing it.

The rest of the week went pretty well and got a pretty good amount done throughout the week. On Thursday we were able to have 5 members which was pretty awesome. The last appointment was really good. It was a dinner appointment with the Vargas family, and the Roberts family of the ward. The Vargas told us a lot of stories of cooking and some adventures they had in their life. Then we had a pretty good lesson over the our heavenly father, it was really good ask we discussed it with the family members. It was really good.

Then the next day we had exchanges and a service. During the service I was with Elder Silva cleaning some windows. We had some good fun and some interesting events. After that we returned back to the flat and I spent the rest of the day with elder silva's companion elder Maksymov. It was a pretty good exchange we were able to met with one person we've been working with for awhile. It was a good lesson, and we learned some interesting facts about him, but those are secret :P.

Then we had interviews with President Bennallack on Saturday. It went pretty well and he hoping to help us out wwith someone we've been working with for some time now and we've just have been having a hard time translating what we were saying to him. It was good time to talk to him as well as sister Bennallack. Then we went over to do some service with sister Cullimore who recently had surgery and is slowly recovering from  it. We had a good time helping out the family and in return they took us out to KFC which was really nice of them. Last week she wasn't doing super well and we gave her a blessing, now she seems to be going in the right direction and progressing well.

Then we had a great Sunday. Nothing big happened it was just good. Like every fast Sunday the members like up to bare their testimonies. It was awesome hearing them. We have awesome members.

Hope your week was awesome, and this week will be just as good.

Love,
Elder Boren

week 61

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the lack of email last week was kind of caught up with everything going on that day, it was pretty back and forth. Anyways Hope you've all had a wonderful week this past week, and will experience another one to come.

This last week was a pretty good week, though not too much happened that was very exciting. It was just a overall packed week. To start we had a normal couple of days before our Zone Conference with some time to prepare for some of the things going on. Then it was Zone conference which was quite interesting. Before hand we were ask to prepare a talk over the Doctrine of Jesus, or the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I had a feeling that i would be one of the ones who would be called so i prepared myself as such, and i'm glad i did. We were giving about 3 minutes to talk about it to the rest of the zone. I focused on how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is literally The Good news of Jesus Christ, and how we should go about sharing that joyous good news to those we come across. It felt pretty good to do it, an everything went smoothly, i think. There were also a few changes with some of the mission Rules and Standards, One of which was that we wont be using any social media for the time being, which includes Google Hangouts. Hopefully it wont take too long, before we can get it running here in Australia. So no More Google Hangouts, so don't message me through there just send me heaps of emails :D. Another thing that the mission will be doing is a fast from all other music beside the Tabernacle Choir. It's only been a couple of days since we've started and it's already been a bit challenging, so to make it easier weve been listening to talks in replacement and some Tcats (Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square) when we can. The Mission is also taking on the challenge that President Nelson gave to the sisters during the relief society session. We've been asked to mark all references to the Savior, I was already doing that, but now i plan on doing it on the phone so that i always have it there with me. I suggest that everyone take on the challenge and draw closer to the savior as you do.

The rest of the week we were about doing service, and visiting members, which has been a big push in the mission. It has been a good week, and i always love being able to give service to others in whatever way i can. May favorite act of service is our weekly service at the Salvos Store. The employees there, and other volunteer seem to like me and sometimes give me free stuff which is nice, but much more fulfilling to see what you did help others out. It's always good to do work there. Hope you all have a great week! Hope to hear from you soon!

Love,
Elder Boren
