Just having an awesome time (week 9)

Hello Everyone

Sorry for the delay in sending these messages, but yesterday was a public holiday so we were out and about for the day, hopefully I didn't miss anything exciting, then again I get an extra day of stuff that happened with the emails, and you get an extra one with me as well. So it's a win, win in every sense of the way.

This week was an awesome week, or last week was an awesome week. Last P-day was a district p-day so we got to go out as a district and do games and such. We played some ultimate Frisbee, chair soccer, and 5 second rule. Its was great and lots of fun, the sisters in the district got really into it, turning some of the games into boys versus girls. The best one was 5 second rule where you have to answer a question in 5 seconds, and most of the time its given answers within this category. I acted as the game show host asking the question and all that jazz. The sisters didn't like my slow game show talk, but it was a blast in every way.

Then we returned to the missionary work, and it was just awesome. We're working with this one couple that is now working towards marriage and baptism. They're basically members. Another plus is that they're from the Cook islands which is great. Love the islanders, they keep giving us food. Last time we went over they gave us 40 eggs, and they're planning on feeding us fish the next time we come over, which is tomorrow. These fish are fish that he caught while fishing the other day. Its just sweet as.

We also got to meet with another one of our investigator family's that originated here in Australia. They're just awesome, it was originally just the father that was interested but now the mother is more interested then before. He runs his own Kombat Archery business which is basically dodge ball with bows and arrows. He gave us some Kombat Archery merch. for us to keep. They're hats, but maybe we can work our way up to a sweeter. Fingers crossed.

We also got to go on another exchange with the zone leaders. Elder Aldus and Elder Torrie, who are now my uncles because I said so. It was awesome going out with them. Last time I went with elder Torrie who is from Canada. This time I got to go with Elder Aldus which was a complete blast, the only rough part was that their area is just straight up hills. So it was a journey to get from point a to b.

Transfer week came on by finalizing my first transfer here. I will not be going anywhere this transfer and probably next transfer as my companion is leaving at the end of this transfer. I'm so excited to stay in this area for another 6 weeks to be among these people and to continue to work with them. I am so excited for these up and coming weeks.

Sincerely,
Elder Boren

The temple trip was wonderful (week 8)

Hello once my friends, family, and others. ( :P )

It feels like I just finished talking to you just the other day, yet here we are. Maybe I should hold off my emails again just so we get the full week wait into it all. Nah, I'm here and so it shall be done.

The temple was a great experience, we caught our mission president just as he was finishing a session of his own, after we contained our excitement we went through our own session. It was great and full of the spirit. What's cool is that one of my companions son (Trainee), was also there and so I got to meet my brother here in the mission. He's from Fiji which is pretty cool. After all that we rushed to get some shopping done for the day, which was interesting to say the least. It was basically grab and go as we were rushing to return back to our flat to finish off our strange Thursday p-day. After we threw the stuff in the flat we rushed over to an appointment we had with two YSA investigators, which went awesome. They are completely ready to take steps forward, its just getting them to church that the main issue is.

After the day end, we were picked up by the Zone leaders for exchanges for the next day. After spending awesome night with them, we begun our exchanges. It was pretty awesome, I got to be with a different companion who is from Canada, for the whole day. We Went out tracking and met with a whole bunch of people who were interested in what we had to say, and now I feel much better with knocking on peoples doors. It got even better as we received news that the other pair and tracked into a golden investigator
who was put on baptism date right there at his house. After that we fell into a streak on setting on date. Thursday we set our YSA investigators on date, The next day, this golden, then the following Me and my companion set a couple on marriage and B date. So we on fire right now :)

Hope you all like the pictures I set a lot of them had Elder Aldus in them. (One with the frog). I'll be going on exchanges with him on Wednesday which will be a blast by all accounts. Hope you like the uncle nick look a like. Had to take a picture with him. I hope everyone is having an amazing time where ever they're at. Keep doing what makes you the most happy.

Love,
Elder Boren

Land down under (week 7)

Hello Everyone.

Terribly sorry about not emailing you about the delay of my emails. I completely forgot last Monday. Then again this way the next time we speak will be a lot sooner then normal. So perks! The other benefit to this was when I got on I had 24 emails stacked up, that was cool. Dylan being socialable is weird. Moving on.

This week has been a lot of fun here in the mission field, in Warnbro-Port Kennedy Australia. It's been a while since I last sent out my emails, so there should be loads of stuff to talk about, lets just hope I remember it all, Hahaha! (*Glances away*)

Last week we were able to take part in Zone P-day which was pretty awesome. We played life-size clue. It was a lot of fun, playing with all the elders and sisters of the zone. Just wish I knew how to play clue. We played it where it was groups, and those groups being our district. Afterwards we did a bunch of random games with some stuff that we had. Some played cards, played games, some sports, etc. There was also some food there, mainly pizza.

You'll be happy to know that I have been expanding my horizon when it comes to foods. It isn't as sweet as it is in America, but its all good. I do a good amount of cooking, which is why I ask for recipes ( Mother send them to me). Also please don't send full on cooking books. Each page I would print is 20 cents. So please send just the best of the book, and ones that would be quick and easy. I would love some dessert recipes to go with the meal one. I would love to become a cook when I return.

The other days have been the everyday days in the mission. I've really grown to like the people here in the area. They're all just awesome and unique in their own way, and just all around great people. It's just awesome meeting up with them everyday, or at least someone. They also cook some great food, much better then at our house, the best food is from the islanders that have moved down here.

This week we did a good amount of service with some investigators as well as inactives in our area. One with an investigator was going at their backyard which has been left alone for over a year. There was a picture of it, with Anthony who was the investigator. it was a lot of fun and his parents came over to lend a hand with it all. Anthony is a great guy, totally awesome. He runs a bounce house service and kombat archery. Which is archery fights with foamed tipped arrows. Were waiting for a chance to do that.

I think that's everything. Hope everyone is having a wonderful time and making the most of life. Keep sending me emails and pictures, I love seeing whats happening. See you all Monday!

Love,
Elder Boren

been on a walk about, no just doing a lot of walking (week 6)

I wanted to start this letter with Good morning, but most of you are in the middle of the night and are going to bed. So.........

Hi

Hello everyone, and the lovely month of September. Hope everyone is doing all fine and well in this new month. I can now say that I have served for a full month on my mission though it's only been a few weeks here in Australia. Always love jumping onto the computers and seeing a whole bunch of emails stocked up, just wish the time wasn't so different. Most of you are already in bed, and those that aren't are going to bed. Oh Well.

This week has been a great week overall. Was able to give some great lesson as we were able to sit down with several of our investigators that we've been working with. 3 of which are on date, and working to be baptised by the end of this month, just need to get them to church enough times. We just know that if they go to church they'll be sold for sure, we just have to work for it.

It was warming up this week then all of a sudden the temperature just dropped so we're back to bundling up when we head out, but it wont last too much longer, summer is coming we can feel it. Though it will be weird have Christmas in the middle of the summer here, it'll be a bit hot, but I'm used to it already. Through Texas I was born from the flames of Summer.

My companion is working over some stomach problems. jumping from constipation to dierria (However it's spelled). He keeps on saying its due to the stress of being so close to leaving his mission. Because of it we've been doing quite a bit of walking around leaving the bikes at home, but nothing to complain about, expect my feet, ankles, knees, and back. Curse you flat feet!

I've been able to do a bit of cooking while out, doing some chicken and rice meals which have been excellent in every case that I made it. Rice here has become like pasta back home, mainly comes from my companion since he's had a lot of islanders he's served with. Speaking of food I would absolutely love it if you guys send me some recipes for me to make here. Keep in mind to keep it roughly cheap as were not flushed with cash down here. I would love to make some Hawaiian haystack if I could get that recipe mother. Also some cookie recipes, I wanna make cookies while here. Any food recipes are welcome.

I've also had some of the best sweet and sour chicken while down here. It was just amazing, wish you guys could experience it. We've also had KFC which is pretty good, people say its better then in America, but I wouldn't know that. There is also nandos which is an awesome chicken place which the missionaries praise as holy food.

That is almost all I can remember from this week. It has been a great week full of experiences and I know this next week will be just the same. Keep me updated with whats going on back hope I love reading about it, but pictures are the best. (Send more pictures).

Love hearing from you all, and hopefully hear from you here soon.

Love,
Elder Boren
