Hello everyone to read this far into it, rather then gazing there eyes upon it. This past week has been a great one in my books at least it was quite exciting being able to head back down to perth for about a week, and spend some time with some other elders. We went down due to zone conference, and spent some time down there with the zone leaders at their flat.

We went down around Wednesday, which took us about 5 hours to drive all the way down to Perth, as well as back up. We took a different route then before, but not too much changed during the ride down. Then spent sometime with Elder Horner and Elder Richins. Spent the rest of the day with Elder Richins, as we still had sometime to go out and do some work with in their area. Then the next day was zone conference.

Zone conference was quite good, and it offered plenty of advice for us on the mission as well as any others who are on their mission. It was a lot more up beat then it sometimes normally is, I guess the Fifes were in that kind of mode whenever giving zone conference. President Fife talked a lot about his wife and what she went through while on her mission, and the struggles she face and how she went about them. Her story was quite inspiring and cool to see how she went forward. She always took it the best way, no down side to anything in life, or the work. She described herself as weird whenever they talked about her in that way. And the fifes are werid, but loveable. (One thing is Presidents love of Ice cream. Every night is ice cream for him)

After that we had a few meetings finishing off the day. The next day was our exchange day with the zone leaders, I went with Elder Horner This time. Elder Horner is a true blue Aussie, and is close to returning to his side of the country. He is a good missionary, who is quite fun to be around. He's also been companions with one of my companions, and it was quite funny to see some of the stuff that they did together. Good times.

Then we returned to Geraldton, and it was good to be back in our area once more. We didn't miss the flies or the strong winds, while biking, but it's good to be back. We are very excited because this up and coming Saturday one of our investigators will be entering the waters of baptism, and joining the church. He already is inviting his friends along and tell them all about it. He will be a wonderful member. We're also hope that a cyclone will come down and hit Geraldton, it needs the rain.

Hope you all have a wonderful week, and hope to hear from you soon.

Love,
Elder Boren

showing my companion around (week 32)

Greetings everyone, I hope you've all had a wonderful week, anticipating for this weekly email, that happens ever week for you. Let me know how it went, and what you thought was exciting. For now I shall tell you the experiences of this last week as well as some other thoughts that I had during the week. Comments and feedback are generally accepted.

This week was the first full week with elder Wilsher. It was a good week and we got to know each other even more as we began to work with each other and talk one to another. We have a lot of things in common, but many other things we do not. He is older then me by 3 years, but we have the same child like personality within us. Old bodies but young hearts. Well not that old, but getting there.

We've had an interesting week this last week. Elder Wilsher quickly popped his front tire, and we didn't have a replacement handy. so we had to go into town to find a bike shop, which took us longer then expected. We found it soon enough, though it did take us sometime. He learned his lesson. One does not simply ride on Geraldton grass. There are plenty of things that lurk to end a tire within that unforgiving grass.

Besides that we had a good week. I continued to show him around to all the members less actives, and investigators that we are working with and have received. They have accepted Elder Wilsher quite willingly and happily. He's easy to love anyways. There are still more people to visit but comes in time. This week we'll be heading down to Perth for zone conference and staying with the zone leaders while down there, or at least that's what the plan is so far.

Hope you all have a wonderful week to come and hope you enjoy what comes to you though out it all. Whatever happens or whatever is going on in life, remember it is your attitude towards it that causes it to change. As your attitude changes so does your outlook, then everything changes to something new, or so it seems. Nothing truly changes but because of your change in attitude you begin to notice different things that you wouldn't have before hand. Just try to keep the right attitude towards whatever is thrown your way, and you will succeed.

Love,
Elder Boren

During some of my off time I started making maps, just for kicks. My Trainer/Father taught me how to make a map, and add details to it. These are two that I've worked one and finished. One was a test on trade routes. They take up time, and are fun to do. Always have a four coloured pen spare.

My new companion is from Canada (week 31)

Nerds, Geeks, Those in-between, Hippies, Hippos, Dinosaurs,  Fishs, Fish's out of water, Turtles, Sea Turtles, Ninja Turtles, Jocks, Drum majors, Pure Breeds, Mutts, Cross breeds, half-breeds, No-breeds?, Aliens, krogens, Cyborgs, Superheros, Jedi's, Siths, Ewoks, gunguns, Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, Wizards, Dragons, Hobbits, Baggins, Nazgul, Dark Lords, Beyonders, Clerics, Warriors, Bowmen, Monks, Tongans, Samoans, Fijians, Philippians, Hawaiians, Elders Sisters, District leaders, Zone leaders, Assistants to the president, El Jefe, Return missionaries, Golden missionaries, dying missionaries, veteran missionaries and so Forth. (muggles not included).

Hello to the people who gaze their eyes upon this document that's tells you the story of my life while here on this mission, while in the area of Geraldton. This email includes an account of the happenings of my mission in the last week. The events that follow are all true, though the wordings of such events may be altered at the writers desires. All in all We desire that you enjoy this in everyway possible and by which is available to you. The account of the week shall now begin, please enjoy.

The beginning of this week marked the end of elder Nai's service and time as a missionary, not only for Geraldton, but for all of the Perth Australia Mission. By this time he has arrived in Tonga and is back home. The time I spent with him was great and a chance to learn even more as I continue onward with my mission. We went and celebrated at McDonalds by getting a MC favourites box for the both of us. It was a lot of food but in time we ate it all, but like always you regret McDonalds afterwards. Then the next day we sent him to perth to finish his mission off. Soon after Elder Wilsher Arrived.

Elder Wilsher is not from the US, but rather Calgery Canada, but originally from Nottingham, England. Which is pretty awesome. Elder Wilsher is the man. He is energetic and a goof ball, as my dad would put it. There is never a dull moment with him, unless he's asleep. He quite fun to be around, and we get along quite well together, as we are both nerds, though i'm the bigger of the two, in that way. I'm excited to see how he goes with the work here in the area. Already the biking and the heat are taking it out of him, but he pushes forward in every way he can. An exciting week and transfer a head. Starting transfer 6 now, 11 more to go, I think. I'm not counting, its just math.

Hope you all have a wonderful week this week, and hope to hear from you all here soon.

Love,
Elder Boren

Visiting with good people. (week 30)

Hello Everyone. I hope you've all have had a wonderful week where ever you are around the world. Though most of you are in the United States. But greetings from Australia to you all. Here in the land down under it is summer. With normal days of upper 30's in Celsius, and yet summer hasn't full developed as of yet. Most people say that it's been a cool summer so far, and i'm not complaining here. (It's not all that bad, be worse if it had high humidity like home). Plus it helps to have a cool wind come in to keep it nice as we go about. Only a few 40's here so far. If our luck holds we wont see to many more.

This week has been a good week here in the work. We've been able to visit with a number of good people. A lot of them Elder Nai has been saying goodbye to as this was his last week on the mission. I have a long way to go before I make to that. Seems like ages, but then again, right around the corner. He is number three that I have sent home now. My next companion will not be heading home anytime soon. I've been on my mission longer then he has. i'm known as his follow up trainer. He has just finished up training himself, and is now heading out to the field. Into my town. As far as I know he is an American, and his name is Elder Wilsher. I met him once at a zone conference and did a roleplay with him. Hope he remembers me :).

Last night I made a roast dinner in a slow cooker, and it turned out really well. Though I cooked it the wrong way. I cooked it on high for 3 hours rather then low. In the end we got a great fast sunday roast dinner. I'm going to start doing it every fast sunday. ( Would show you but computer wont accept sd card. Next time)

Hope you all have a wonderful week and hopefully hear from you here soon.

Love,
Elder Boren

Mom: I had asked him what gets him up everyday
Jacob: The people. It's all about the people> loving them serving them, working with them, struggling with them. The people here are good people, and they are amazing to be able to work with and for.

week 29

Hello Everyone once more. Hope you all had a wonderful week last week, and month seeing how February is just about to close off. The week has been a good one here in G-town We were able to head over to a bush town not too far from Geraldton. The grinceri's took us up there as they went and visited with one of the members that lives up there. Its about 30 minutes drive to get there, which gives an idea on the size of our area is. We spent about 4 hours up there doing some missionary work. Not too much came from it, but we'll continue to work up there when we get the chance to go there again.

Then not too long after that we got to visit with a family that always enjoys having us over for dinner to talk and play games (Card games). They're really quite fun and always enjoy having the missionaries over, no matter who they are. Then we had a pot luck dinner at the church as we were having branch conference this last Sunday. The stake presidency came down and gave some talks and other stake business. We also were able to have an investigator family come along to both of these events. We also had a less active come as well to church on Sunday.

It was a good week here in Geraldton, And this week will be my last week with my companion. Next week he'll be heading home to Tonga. He's going almost a week earlier then the rest of his intake, he's already ready to go.

One thing i'd like to share to those members that read these emails I send. As a missionary we go out and do the work of finding people to teach and bring unto the gospel of Jesus Christ. But the best way for them to stay in the church is through the friendship of other members of the church. Continue to help those who are interested in the church. Help them in everyway. Invite those you know that can benefit from the gospel and what we have in life. Prey for these moments throughout the day.

Love,
Elder Boren
